Frequently Asked Questions

What is your turn-around time?

Print time is largely determined by the number of orders that are already in the queue. We suggest that you plan to allow at least 48 hours turnaround to account for delays due to high volume orders, or peaks in demand. This being said we print most posters within 24 hours.

Typically, if you send us your order before 5pm, we will make every effort to print it that evening and have it ready the following business day

If you send us your order after 5pm, your order will typically be printed either on the same day, or on the following day.

Can I request a rush order?

Absolutely! We will do our very best to accommodate Rush Orders, and at no additional cost. Often we can print same day, and you can choose to pick up your poster at our facility in Waterloo, ON to avoid delays in delivery/shipping.

We do recommend calling in advance to ensure we have the bandwidth to accommodate your rush order.

Where do you ship to?

Currently, we ship Canada-wide with CanadaPost (options are available on the Cart Page), and make regular deliveries to University of Waterloo, and Wilfred Laurier University.

We also offer local pick-up (in Laurelwood) if you need your poster faster, or outside of regular business hours.

For large or group/conference orders, we will also arrange a special delivery to The GTHA, and Southwestern Ontario.

What is the best way to get you my file?

You will be asked to upload your file as a single PDF when you are placing your order.

If you have multiple files, for a multi poster order you can upload a PDF file for each poster.

How will I know your received my order?

Our online ordering system will send a verification email when you complete your order. If you don’t get your verification email within 30 minutes, please call or email us.

In addition, we will send you a follow-up email within ~4 hours, that will provide an estimate of when your poster will print.

Orders placed outside of business hours will receive a follow-up email the morning of the next business day.

What type of files do you accept?

We only accept PDF files. Unlike, other file formats such as PPT, or Illustrator, a PDF file has the ability to exist independently from the hardware, software and operating system (OS) used to create or view the PDF document. This dramatically helps to avoid program communication problems.

Will you send me a proof?

Since we are printing direct from a PDF file, our process will faithfully reproduce what you see on your screen. We ask that you do your proof-reading before you send us a file.

How big should my scientific poster be?

The conference will tell you the size of the space they will give you. That doesn’t necessarily mean that your poster needs to be the maximum size.

Many conferences give you a 48×96″ space, and a 42×90″ poster works fine.

We also print plenty of 36×48″ and 36×60″ posters that are displayed on 48×96″ boards.

If the conference wants a poster of a specific size, you should accommodate.

To what size should I set up my file?

If you are designing from scratch, it’s always best to set things up in actual size.

Since PowerPoint will allow a maximum single dimension of 56″, you should use half-sizing for posters larger than that. For instance, if you need a 36”x60″ poster, set it up as 18”x30”, and then we will scale it to size with our printer driver. However, you must remember to make your images twice the image resolution (e.g. 300 dpi images should be made 600 dpi, to ensure no loss of resolution with scaling).

We have free and premium templates to help get you started. Our PowerPoint templates are set up at half-size for everything larger than 48×48″.
